ABOUT EMMA:
Emma Holly Jones is a British writer, producer, and director. She began her career in photography, branded content, and documentary filmmaking before moving into narrative work.
Her short film, Mr. Malcolm’s List: Overture, premiered as part of Refinery29’s Shatterbox anthology series, where it quickly became the most-watched installment, earning over 5 million organic impressions across social channels in under 72 hours.
She went on to direct and produce the feature version, Mr. Malcolm’s List, a period romantic comedy starring Freida Pinto, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, Zawe Ashton, Theo James, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Ashley Park. Released globally in 2022 by Universal and Bleecker Street, the film received both critical and audience acclaim. It was nominated for two Irish Film & Television Academy Awards and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Independent Motion Picture, and won the World Soundtrack Award for its score.
Emma is currently attached to direct romantic comedy Affairs of State, written by Pat Cunnane and produced by Star Thrower Entertainment. She is also developing a feature film with Sony to produce and direct, based on a well-known public domain property, in collaboration with screenwriter Kristina Lauren Anderson. Additionally, she is co-developing a WWII miniseries with director Wayne Che Yip and RAW TV.
She is represented by CAA (US), Curtis Brown (UK), Rogue Management, and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis, and currently resides in Los Angeles.
